Very often, due attention is not given to all the beauties of Lake Como; it is well-known for the villas of famous people, from Hollywood actors to powerful magnates, but there are many things to do and see. First of all, the less famous – but by no means any less beautiful – Lecco branch of the lake is virtually unknown to mass tourism, that ignores the beauty of the towns and views to be found hereabouts. So let’s use a magnifying glass to highlight every cultural and landscape point of view of Lake Como.

Day 1 Arrival and hotel arrangements in the Pescate area for 4 nights HB.

Day 2 Full day guided visit to Como; we take the cable car up to Brunate to enjoy the unique view over the lake and mountains surrounding and embracing it. In the afternoon, we visit the Silk Museum, an undisputed speciality of local industry.

Day 3 The central part of the lake is undoubtedly the best known: the morning is dedicated to a visit to Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo, followed by the stunning spectacle of the lakeside villas seen from a private boat. The afternoon sees a visit to Bellagio, the “pearl” of Lake Como, returning by way of Varenna, a small and characteristic town on the eastern shore. This area is home to the villas most sought after by the international jet set.

Day 4 Lecco is one of the richest and most important cities in Lombardy; it lies at the feet of the valleys leading to Valtellina and this is why it enjoys a particularly pleasant climate all year round. The fame of the city and nearby towns is bound with Alessandro Manzoni, considered to be one of the finest novelists of all time, who set here the most widely read novel in Italian: The Betrothed. Lunch in a typical restaurant and free afternoon.

Day 5 After breakfast and the last group photo, departure and return.
